Next school, Agrupamento de Escolas de Pedome, is also like a neighbour for us because they are located near Galicia, in Pedome, a parish near beautiful Guimarães, in neighbouring Portugal. We have travelled there recently, in the third week of March. We researched on metals and their impact on the environment through some varied activities, attended a workshop about upcycling and visited Fibrenamics to investigate several different ways to produce new materials from a variety of waste as, for example, cigarette butts. We also enjoyed taking part in several upcycling workshops and, as a result, brought some souvenirs home...

UMinho – Fibrenamics collaborating with AE Pedome – Upcycling
You can have a look at the presentation the Portuguese school created to show the visit that was carried out at "Universidade do Minho" and the firm Fibrenamics, which investigates the transformation of a variety of waste materials into new ones.
